LEAD RESPIRATORY THERAPIST:
Requirements:
- Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
- TN State Licensure
- Hours of availablity- 6:30am-3:30pm, with on-call weekends.
- Reports directly to Respiratory Therapist Director
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Obtaining and reporting any departmental issues or concerns to RT Director
- Charting/Documentation and daily MAR auditing
- Assisting on the floor as an RT if a call occurs
- Overseeing Morning Huddle Monday-Friday and tracking with documentation
- Assisting with New Admissions Assessment Evaluations
- Rounding on the floor every Tuesday (trachs,tanks,pulse ox,filters, black bags, etc.)
- Reviewing New Referral Evaluations (RT Director and Lead)
- Completing Off Site Visits as indicated for prior admission evaluation when RT Director is N/A
- Assisting the Physician/NP in Clinical Rounds if RT Director is N/A
- Contacting family and participating in care plan meetings if RT Director in N/A
- Obtaining and entering New Admission orders and Care Plans (RT Director and Lead)
- Stocking all Respiratory equipment
- Ordering Supplies through RT Medical every Monday
- Ordering Supplies through Central Supply every Thursday
- Assisting with Monthly Education on ALL 2nd floor staff
- Assisting with training new employees, nurses and CNTs during the skills fair (RT Director and Lead)
- Assisting with trach changes on floor (if needed)
- Assisting with set up of clinical equipment and provide complete patient instruction according to professional standard
- Assisting with and State Documentation,Surveys and/or Evaluations as indicated
- Assisting with discharges if the RT Director is not available
- Assisting with any other duties as indicated by the RT Director
