Join Our Team as Director of Recreation at Our Skilled Nursing Facility! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors? We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and organized Director of Recreation to lead and enhance the quality of life for our residents through engaging, meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan & Lead Engaging Activities: Develop and implement a wide variety of programs for all days of the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Activities should cater to residents' needs, from large group programs to one-on-one sessions, spiritual activities, community outings, and more.
- Create and Share Monthly Calendars: Design a monthly calendar of activities, ensuring it is accessible to all residents and staff.
- Team Management & Scheduling: Prepare staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Supervise and collaborate with staff to deliver exceptional programs.
- Maintain Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation and records are completed in compliance with facility requirements.
- Resident Engagement: Coordinate regular resident council meetings and be the liaison between residents and staff to address concerns. Organize exciting outings, entertainment, parties, seasonal celebrations, and special events.
- Facility Collaboration: Participate in department and care plan meetings, helping create individualized plans for residents. Lead efforts in maintaining a welcoming, festive atmosphere with seasonal decorations.
- Volunteer & Community Involvement: Oversee our volunteer program, represent the facility in local events, and engage with community grassroots initiatives.
- Communication & Marketing: Lead the creation of our bi-monthly newsletter and manage the facility's social media presence to keep residents, families, and the community informed.
What We're Looking For: - Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on recreation activities experience in a skilled nursing setting and 5 years in a full-time activity role.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities, with a strong focus on teamwork and resident satisfaction.
- Passion: A genuine love for working with seniors and enhancing their daily experiences.
- Requirements: Must have a background in organizing diverse activities for seniors, from entertainment to enrichment programs, and be ready to lead with energy and compassion.
