Primary Vascular Care is looking for a
Medical Assistant to work 4 days (Monday - Thursday) 10 hour shifts (2 days in the Bronx and 2 days in Brooklyn).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Ensure proper protocols and company policies and workflow are communicated and executed within the Vascular Care Center recovery room
- Assist registered nurse with post procedure patient care needs
- Provide post procedure care including comfort, safety, dressing patient, nutritional needs, assisting with relief
- Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses, and patients
- Ensure patient's procedure list is completed each day
- Assist registered nurse with examinations and procedures
- Assist with lifting patients to and from wheelchair, O.R stretcher, and recovery room stretcher
- Cover the Front Desk Coordinator duties as needed
- Assist Manager of VCC with oversight and restocking of medical equipment and medical supply inventory, office supplies and toiletries
- Proper disposal of biohazardous materials and other waste
- Function as a team member which includes flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work additional hours when needed
- Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, physicians, and coworkers
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations and office safety compliance guidelines
- Perform miscellaneous duties requested by management and physicians
QUALIFICATIONS: - 1+ year of patient care experience required
- Active Medical Assistant certificate or diploma required
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- BLS - Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart Association required
- Physical, Vaccines and Titers: PPD/TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella required
- COVID and Flu Vaccine preferred
- Must be able to lift and move patients
- Ability to travel to multiple Vascular Care Centers
- Comfortable working in patient recovery area
- Excellent assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
