Job Description: Restorative CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Position Summary:
A Restorative CNA helps residents improve or maintain their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. This role involves working with residents on specific restorative programs, assisting with daily activities, and supporting the healthcare team to ensure residents’ comfort and progress.
Responsibilities:
•Help residents with exercises like walking, stretching, and strengthening activities.
•Support residents in performing daily tasks such as dressing, eating, and grooming to maintain their independence.
•Use and teach residents how to use assistive devices like walkers, wheelchairs, and canes.
•Monitor and document residents’ progress and report any changes to the nursing or therapy team.
•Assist with positioning, transferring, and turning residents to ensure comfort and prevent sores.
•Maintain a clean and safe environment, including care of equipment.
•Provide general CNA support when needed, such as helping with hygiene and basic care.
Qualifications:
•Must have a current CNA certification.
•Experience in restorative care or rehabilitation is a plus.
•Ability to work with residents patiently and compassionately.
•Good communication and documentation skills.
Work Environment:
•Active job with standing, walking, and lifting.
•Working in a healthcare setting, with some exposure to residents’ health needs.
