Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center located in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. We are an OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder. The Assistant Clinical Director collaborates with the Clinical Director to provide individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.
Schedule: Friday - Tuesday (10:00am - 6:00pm)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director & Program Director to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate services, programs, and activities.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director, Program Director, and counselor(s) to determine continuum of care for program participants.
- Assists in overseeing program counseling staff in the day-to-day provision
- Ensures that counseling staff have been adequately trained in the use of any curriculum being delivered to clients.
- Directly, and through subordinate staff, supervises the assessment of all newly arrived patients; assists in supervising clinical staff in scheduling all patients into treatment activities; assigning caseloads and schedules; and monitoring and evaluating clinicians in the performance of their duties.
- In collaboration with the Program Director & Clinical Director, reviews all clinical documentation (treatment progress, treatment plans, and client coordination of care plan) and conducts regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis.
- Conducts regular chart reviews, ensuring that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis and that all governing agency regulations are met.
- Attends meetings called by the Clinical Director & Program Director and participates in discussions concerning the revision, improvement and expansion of existing programs and offers recommendations.
- Assists with monitoring quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities and makes recommendations to the Clinical Director and Program Director for plans of corrections.
- Ensures compliance of provider operations with federal, state, and local rules and regulations of family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services to the in-patient treatment community.
- Provides individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
- Provides individual supervision sessions amongst counseling staff
Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree preferred, Bachelors Degree required
- Licensed in the State of NY as a qualified health professional (QHP):
- CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, or other relevant NYS licensure/certification
- 5 years of experience in a similar setting preferred
- Experience providing one-on-one supervision for clinical staff preferred
